Why must I go through the tribulation if I believe in Jesus Christ?
The devils believe and tremble and they are not even saved.
JAMES 2:19
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
You may not go through the tribulation. Then again, you may.
The tribulation is a purging of the earth. UnGodliness has swept the earth.
There are two times of purging.
1. One is now, by the Word.
2. The second is the tribulation period or 'end of the world'.
The Bride is being purged now. The Bible says "Word upon Word". The greatest enemy the Bride has is herself. The 'flesh fallen nature' of man cannot be saved. She is now being purged of her own thinking and flesh fallen nature. She must overcome herself, her thoughts, her ideas, her complexes, her ambitions, her personal makeup and mostly, her unbelief. Her soul must be truly new born into Eternal condition and by this she puts into subjection her outer man, the one satan has access to - not to mention her own fallen nature free will.
Those who are unwilling or not called for this purging must go through the tribulation period.
Those who continue to stand for the Lord Jesus Christ in the tribulation will be hunted down and killed.
Those who misrepresent Jesus Christ as well as everyone else will be destroyed at the end of the tribulation.
All earth will be burned over for scripture says:
MALACHI 4:1 1 ¶ For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do [this], saith the LORD of hosts.
4 ¶ Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
